Don't Give Up

Updated: Jul 24, 2021

Galatians 6:9 (ESV) 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Whatever you do, don’t give up. No matter how many times you fail. No matter how many times you are disappointed. No matter how long you’ve been waiting. Don’t give up, don’t ever give up. Decide right now. Perseverance happens when we make the hard choice to not give up over and over again. Perseverance happens when we recommit to keep going over and over again.

You don’t have to fear failure, because you have a God who is faithful to you no matter how many times you fail. So don’t give up. Don’t every give up. You’ll win if you don’t give up. And when you do feel like giving up, or if you feel like you have already given up. It’s okay. The place to start is to know you are safe, loved and accepted in the hands of God. He knows how hard and painful it’s been. He knows how tempting it is to give up. He knows that life hasn’t made it easy to keep going. He doesn’t blame you, He’s speaking love to you. He’s whispering in your heart: “I’m here for you! Even though you have given up, I haven’t, and I will be enough for the both of us.” His power is made perfect in weakness. His grace covers over our quitting. So if nothing else, even if you give up on everything else, don’t give up believing God’s grace and faithfulness will be enough even for those who have given up.

SCRIPTURES FOR MEDITATION

Romans 5:3-5 (NIV) 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

1 Chronicles 16:11 (ESV) 11 Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

Philippians 1:6 (ESV) 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 73:26 (NIV) 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Superpowers

I remember watching a clip of a video where the speaker was talking about how all of us have “superpowers.” Perhaps not literally...
